Agile had been sold as the foundation for success in the development of a new application. The company was very small and the new development team was a large proportion of the entire company.
The team was using all of the developer tools that Agile provides: TDD, continuous integration, pair programming, story driven iterations, spikes into new functionality, retrospectives, iteration planning, estimating, story writing.
What they weren’t doing was release planning and long term estimating and planning and schedule commitments.
